On Thursdays it's English day.
The class starts with a song to say hello and
to express how one feels.
Sometimes someone feels sad or not so good, but
most of the times almost everyone is happy or wonderful.
We then start working on the course book and
for reinforcement of new vocabulary there are games to play or songs to sing
and dance.
All the classes are aimed to develop children's
communicative skills focusing on what they are learning in the other subjects
of the curriculum or on what their interests are.
It is an intercultural approach where the
children compare their culture (s) with others, specially those that speak
English.
Besides being dynamic and fun, the classes are
also very demanding, according to the children's age and development.
It is also taken into consideration the
children's previous and the forthcoming experiences in English language.
